The Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Investment Fund (CIOSIF) is a significant regional finance initiative, established as part of the British Business Bank's broader efforts to stimulate economic growth and address market failures in the provision of finance to smaller businesses across the UK. Launched in 2018, CIOSIF is a substantial £40 million fund, backed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the European Investment Bank, and the UK government. Its primary objective is to provide crucial financial support to growing businesses within Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, thereby fostering innovation, creating jobs, and enhancing the region's overall economic prosperity.

CIOSIF offers a flexible range of finance options, including both debt and equity, tailored to meet the diverse needs of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). By the end of September 2023, the fund had successfully deployed £27.7 million into 90 businesses across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. This significant investment has not only provided vital capital but has also attracted an additional £29.6 million in private sector co-investment, amplifying its reach and effectiveness. Furthermore, these investments have directly contributed to the creation of approximately 900 jobs within the region, underscoring CIOSIF's role as a catalyst for local employment and sustainable economic development.
