FTX, primarily recognized as a prominent cryptocurrency exchange, also operated a significant venture capital arm known as FTX Ventures. Launched in January 2022, FTX Ventures was established with a substantial $2 billion fund dedicated to investing across the Web3, blockchain, and broader crypto ecosystem. The fund's strategic objective was to accelerate the adoption and development of decentralized technologies, supporting projects ranging from early-stage startups to more mature companies.

FTX Ventures pursued a diverse investment strategy, participating in various funding rounds and strategic initiatives within the digital asset space. Its portfolio included notable investments in blockchain infrastructure and application layers. For instance, the firm participated in a significant $150 million Series B funding round for Mysten Labs, a Web3 infrastructure company. Other prominent investments included contributions to large rounds for projects like Aptos and Lightspark, showcasing its focus on high-potential, impactful ventures.

However, the operational capacity of FTX Ventures was abruptly halted following the collapse and subsequent bankruptcy filing of FTX and its affiliated entities in November 2022. As a result, FTX Ventures is no longer an active investor in the market. Its assets and past investments are now subject to ongoing bankruptcy proceedings, meaning it does not currently provide funding to new or existing startups.
